Oprah made three times as much as the top CEO of 2011?  Tyler Perry made more than the top CEO?   Lady Gaga made about the same as the top CEO?  Are their careers more important than the average CEO? Why are they not greedy (instead they are loved by the masses), but CEO's are greedy and evil and wrong?  Justin Bieber, ranked number 26 on the celebrity list made more money at the age of 17 than all, but the top 3 CEO's?    I'd love to see the top 1% with a breakdown of business CEO's vs Celebrity actors, musicians, athletes, etc...but I have yet to read (or find) such a report or article.  It appears the cream of the crop for the 1% is easily Hollywood.

There is a popular claim that if we taxed all income over $1 million at 100% and cut all military & defense spending by 100% over the next 10 years, we wouldn't be able to pay for Bernie Sanders' promises. So let's look at a little breakdown. ---------------------------------------- Sanders has plans for massive increases in spending on social programs over the next ten years, should he be elected president; $15 trillion on universal healthcare, $1.2 trillion on social security, $1 trillion on infrastructure, $750 billion on universal college, and $319 billion in paid leave funds. The total cost of this plan is estimated to be over $18 trillion. His plan also includes cuts to military spending as well. According to the Center for Budget & Policy Priorities, the U.S. government spent approximately $615 billion on military and national defense in the fiscal year 2014. If we were to cut all military spending for one year, we'd save around $615 billion. ---------------------------------------- To fund these massive increases in spending on social programs, taxes would also most likely have to be raised. According to John Stossel, the government would only bring in about $616 billion in tax revenue if we were to tax all incomes over $1 million at 100% for one year. ---------------------------------------- Given that Sanders plans to spend about $18 trillion over the next ten years, we'll have to multiply the figures, those being how much we save by cutting all military spending and taxing all incomes over $1 million at 100%, by ten. If we cut all military spending for the next 10 years, we'd save around $6.15 trillion. If we were to tax all incomes over $1 million at 100% for the next 10 years, we'd bring in about $6.16 trillion. Add these two figures together and it would equal about $12.31 trillion. ---------------------------------------- $12.31 trillion is still about $5.69 trillion short of the cost of Bernie's promises. This proves that if we cut military spending by 100% and taxed all incomes over $1 million at 100% over the next ten years, you still wouldn't be able to pay for Bernie's promises.
