kiebers

Quote from: "JOE"
Translated: kiebers disses cat owners because he looks like a dog.

How you read that as....wait, forgot about your lack of reading comprehension. Never mind...
I've learned that if someone asks you a really stupid question and you reply by telling them what time it is, they'll leave you alone

QuoteScientists Now Say Having A Cat Might Cause Mental Illness... And The Evidence Is Scary.

To people who can get past their mood swings, cats are truly awesome pets. It like they can do no wrong. But as it turns out, there may be a downside to owning these magical creatures...

And it comes in the form of a very strange disease.

Scientists now claim there may be a downside to having cats around. It's called T. gondii, and most cats carry it.

T. gondii is a parasite present in the waste of most cats, and it can alter the brains of certain animals.

Mice normally use their sense of smell to avoid cat urine. But once they're infected with T. gondii, their brain is altered so that they start actually being drawn to the scent of cats – which inevitably doesn't end well for the mice.

Having the infected mouse be eaten by a cat is beneficial to the parasites, since cats are the only hosts where that allow them to reproduce.

These mind-altering parasites are able to infect humans as well, and that's where things get even more bizarre.

While T. gondii parasites can't reproduce in a human host, they can still cause mild toxoplasmosis... and possibly lead to the development of mental illness.

In a recent study in the journal Schizophrenia Research, scientists found a link between people who had been exposed to cats from a young age and the development of mental illness later in life.

This latest study is the third to come to this same conclusion.

Looks like your cats are literally driving you crazy. Your feline friend might not seem so cute anymore, huh?

Gives a whole new meaning to "crazy cat lady"....LOLOLOLOLOL

You will hear it as a defense in court soon. "I ran him over because I have cats"....LOLOL

How is it transmitted to people?

By handling cat shit.....cleaning the litter box.

Transmission of the parasite is very, very, rare.....but pregnant women should never be exposed to cat crap just as a precaution.

Truth is, coming in contact with one of Joe's posts and accidentally letting some of his "stupid" get on you, is actually more dangerous.

Annie

There is some truth to cat poop harboring parasites. When our daughter was very young and we first got Patches, she ate some cat littler from the box (ya I know, gross) and she got really sick. She spent a week in children's hospital treated for a stomache virus.  She never did that again.

...really? Even I knew better than that!

I always thought it was gross and I hated the sight of it, even as a kid.

So I never went near it because it made me feel uneasy.

Anyways, that sort of thing is easily preventable with the gadgets they now have:

I've asked this question before and I never got a real answer so I'll ask it again.....

Is there anything you AREN'T afraid of, Joe?

You strike me as one of the biggest cowards that I ever had the displeasure of running into. I can't even recount how many things you are afraid of or nervous about. Last time it was "dog shit"....now it's "cat shit". What's next....Hamsters shit?....Bird shit?.....Bat shit?......What the shit?????

With the obvious exception of "bullshit" (which is your main form of communication), it's become apparent that you are afraid of a lot of "shit". I find THAT oddly ironic because "chicken shit" seems to be your real name.   ac_umm

Well Renn...it's not that I'm afraid of everything....it's just that with your ultra-aggressive demeanor, you strike fear into the heart of all living creatures...and even some people. I bet this is how most cats react around you when they sense the presence of Renn in da room, eh?:

http://www.acupetwellness.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/scardy-cat.jpg">

Why, you're just like a female version of Yomesite Sam....rough, tuff 'n gruff. If you don't mind, I think I'll call you....Yosemite Samantha.

Anyways, I think in general, all women are the biggest cowards I've ever seen, eh Renn? They say stuff like, "I don't want to push my fingers to hard...or I'm AFRAID I'll break my nails!" Or "I'm afraid to walk out in public without my makeup or curlers in my hair...because what would the neighbors think!?" And the stuff I hear in the back of limos or in nightclubs, like, "I hope my pushup bra doesn't fall down....I'm AFRAID what my b/f and girlfriends think?" So if you're attempting to assign cowardice, then look no further then yer own gender, Renn! So many fraidy cats among your own feline crowd.
