If China's state owned media is now scapegoating Jewish-Americans it is out of self interest. Perhaps it is because many prominent Jewish-Americans have been critical of China's barbaric actions against the Uighurs.

That is what a country should do. Nations don't have friends, they have interests. Right now, Beijing thinks playing the anti-semitism card in the US is in their interests.
