Interesting that he created the tech behind both so different media. Certainly must have been extremely bright and determined

">

Yaphet Kotto, best known for his roles in "Live and Let Die" and "Alien," has died at age 81.  The actor's wife, Tessie Sinahon, confirmed Kotto had died Monday in a Facebook post.

"I'm saddened and still in shocked of the passing of my husband Yaphet of 24 years," she wrote.

Born Nov. 15, 1939, in New York, Kotto was raised by his grandparents in the Bronx, according to IMDB. He first began acting in 1958 with a theatrical debut in the title role of "Othello."  Several years later, he appeared in the Broadway production "The Great White Hope" as James Earl Jones' understudy.

Kotto went on to appear in various films before landing his breakout role as the evil Kananga, also known as Mr. Big, in the 1973 James Bond thriller "Live and Let Die." Three years later, he was cast as Ugandan dictator Idi Amin in "Raid on Entebbe," followed by Nostromo engineer Parker in 1979's "Alien."

Conservative talk-show host Dan Bongino will take up the radio slot previously filled by the late talk-show giant Rush Limbaugh, Cumulus Media's Westwood One announced in a press release on Wednesday.

The show will launch on May 24 and run from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m., as did Limbaugh's massively popular program. Listeners will be able to tune into Bongino's show nationwide, including the major radio markets in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, San Francisco, and Washington, DC.

"The Dan Bongino Show will tackle the hot political issues, debunking both liberal and Republican establishment rhetoric. As a former Secret Service agent and NYPD officer, Bongino is uniquely positioned to provide commentary and analysis that directly questions the philosophical underpinnings of both the Left and Big Government Republicans," the press release stated.

Since he left the Secret Service in 2011, Bongino has skyrocketed to the top of the charts among talk-show hosts nationwide. His podcast was downloaded 117 million times in 2020 and ranked in the top two slots among all podcasts on Apple during the post-election period.

Jessica Walter, who played a scheming matriarch in TV's "Arrested Development," has died. She was 80.

Walter's death was confirmed Thursday by her daughter, Brooke Bowman.

The actor's best-known film roles included playing the stalker in Clint Eastwood's 1971 thriller, "Play Misty for Me."

Walter's daughter said the actor will be remembered for her work and for her wit, class and love of life.

Walter's feature debut was in the 1964 film "Lilith," with Warren Beatty, Jean Seberg and Gene Hackman, who was also on his first film.

She also snagged a role in John Frankenheimer's racing epic "Grand Prix," from 1966, as the glamorous but discontented wife of a Formula One racer who falls for another driver. That same year she appeared in Sidney Lumet's "The Group," a female-led ensemble about the graduates of a prestigious university (Walter played the catty Libby), and acted for Lumet again in 1968's "Bye Bye Braverman."
