He was good

He got his main start in Blackboard Jungle

a great movie which also is often credited with getting original Rock & Roll going

with Bill Haley & Rock around the Clock  .. which played throughout the movie

Dang, I didn't know that. The oldest movie I know him from is A Raisin in the Sun.

Yes. He saw & approached the ghetto problems from a reality perspective and was all his life a booster of families and proper behavior as essential for blacks to succeed

He was a teacher in the movie doing the above
I really tried to warn y\'all in 49  .. G. Orwell

The 1988 thriller that saw Sidney Poitier chase a villain onto a BC Ferry — and saw B.C. play itself

There's that part of flick in link https://globalnews.ca/news/8497176/sidney-poitier-vancouver-movie/">https://globalnews.ca/news/8497176/sidn ... ver-movie/">https://globalnews.ca/news/8497176/sidney-poitier-vancouver-movie/

The film was 1988's Shoot to Kill, and starred Poitier in is first role in over a decade as an FBI agent who pursues a murderer into B.C.'s rugged mountains. Co-stars included Tom Berenger and Kirstie Alley.

I only know him from Full House and America's Funniest Home Videos..

I thought he had a strong resemblance to late night talk show host Stephen Colbert.
