Colin Cantwell, the man who designed the spacecraft in the "Star Wars" films, has died. He was 90.

The Hollywood Reporter reported Sunday that Sierra Dall, Cantwell's partner, confirmed that he died at his home in Colorado on Saturday. Cantwell designed the prototypes for the X-wing Starfighter, TIE fighter and Death Star.

He also worked on films including "2001: A Space Odyssey," "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" and "WarGames."

Cantwell was born in San Francisco in 1932. Before working on Hollywood films, Cantwell attended the University of California, Los Angeles, where he got a degree in animation. He also attended Frank Lloyd Wright's School of Architecture.

In the 1960s he worked at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory and NASA on educational programs about flights. Cantwell worked with NASA to feed Walter Cronkite updates during the 1969 moon landing.

Cantwell wrote two science fiction novels. He is survived by his partner of 24 years, Sierra Dall.

Roam during her transition. Now she will roam forever. Rest In Peace, my love, and love to you all."

The instrumental version of Cruise's best-known song "Falling" was used as the title music for David Lynch's TV drama Twin Peaks, which first aired in 1990, and she performed on the series, including the climactic and terrifying "Bob"-revealing episode "Lonely Souls." They had previously worked together on Lynch's neo-noir film Blue Velvet (1986) and she also performed in his 1990 avant-garde concert performance Industrial Symphony No. 1, in which Cruise played "The Dreamself of the Heartbroken Woman."

In 2018, Cruise told fans in a Facebook post that she had systemic lupus that had left her struggling to walk or stand.

Legendary Toronto Musician Big Rude Jake Dies at 57

">

Toronto legend Big Rude Jake — the irony-laden, poem-writing troubadour who mixed up the city's neo-swing scene with his blend of jazz, blues, ragtime, rockabilly and Cajun music — has died at 57 after being diagnosed with small-cell carcinoma of the bladder in spring 2021.

Earlier this month, more than 20 musicians and friends of Jake (a.k.a. A. Jacob Hiebert) came together at Toronto's Lula Lounge for Jakefest, a benefit concert to support Hiebert and his family while he was undergoing treatment and unable to work.

A GoFundMe campaign was also set up to raise funds for Heibert. Throughout his cancer treatment, Heibert continued to share music, hosting weekly Facebook shows and running an online music therapy program for adults with disabilities.

Big Rude Jake released his debut album as Big Rude Jake and His Gentlemen Players, Butane Fumes & Bad Cologne, in 1993. He would go on to release nearly a dozen records in his lifetime.

Brett Tuggle, a journeyman keyboardist who logged two decades in Fleetwood Mac during their reunion era and also served as a founding member of the David Lee Roth Band in the Eighties, died June 19 from complications related to cancer. He was 70.

Tuggle's son Matt confirmed his death to Rolling Stone. "He was loved by his family so much," Matt says. "His family was with him throughout the entire time of his illness. He was a lovely father. He gave me music in my life."

Over the course of his long career, Tuggle also played with Jimmy Page, Rick Springfield, David Coverdale, John Kay and Steppenwolf, Styx's Tommy Shaw, and Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels. During his tenure with David Lee Roth, he co-wrote the 1988 hit "Just Like Paradise."

I like Fleetwood Mac, but I never heard of him. He is a travelling musician and not really a member of the band.
