CHICAGO — Dick Butkus, a fearsome middle linebacker for the Chicago Bears, has died, the team announced Thursday. He was 80.

According to a statement released by the team, Butkus' family confirmed that he died in his sleep overnight at his home in Malibu, California.

Butkus was a Hall of Famer whose bone-rattling tackles made him one of the most intimidating players in NFL history. He was the quintessential modern linebacker, a disruptive force who roamed sideline to sideline and left a trail of broken opponents behind.

He was a first-team All-Pro selection five times and made the Pro Bowl in eight of his nine seasons before knee injuries forced his retirement at age 31. Despite a short career, Butkus came to define his position. He routinely ranks among the NFL's top 100 players.

Playing off his tough-guy image, Butkus later acted in movies, TV shows and commercials.

Dick Butkus was the meanest motherfucker I ever watched play football.  His goal every game was to knock someone out, and he succeeded in a lot of his games.  Today's NFL is Pussyball compared to how they played then.

I'm about to watch my Bears suck on National tv again.  That's an old tradition too.

Actress Piper Laurie, 3-time Oscar nominee, dies at 91

Three-time Oscar nominee Piper Laurie has died at the age of 91, according to reports.

Laurie, star of movies like "Carrie" and "The Hustler," also starred in the television show "Twin Peaks," which provided two of her nine Emmy nominations.

She won her only Emmy for 1986's "Promises," in which she starred with James Wood and James Garner.

She was born Rosetta Jacobs in Detroit, but it was as a student at Los Angeles High School that her showbusiness career took off, Variety reports.

"She was plucked out of Los Angeles High School at age 17 and signed to a Universal contract for $250 a week, which would run up to $1,750 a week after seven years," the outlet said.

Laurie found much more success once she gained some autonomy from the film studios.

She leaves behind a daughter, Anne Grace.

I didn't think she was that old. But then I looked up Carrie. That movie first aired in 1976.

She scared the hell out of me in that movie when I was a kid.

Back in 75, I had seen Carrie but my roommate had not. At the end when her hand comes up out of the ground, I grabbed his foot. He let out a scream and the body jerk kind of elevated him above the couch. Funny as hell.

I've learned that if someone asks you a really stupid question and you reply by telling them what time it is, they'll leave you alone

I am a classic sitcom junkie, but Three's Company does not make the greatest hits collection.

Richard Moll, who found fame as a bailiff on the sitcom 'Night Court,' dies at 80

Richard Moll, a character actor who found lasting fame as an eccentric but gentle giant bailiff on the original "Night Court" sitcom, has died. He was 80.

Moll died Thursday at his home in Big Bear Lake, California, according to Jeff Sanderson, a publicist at Chasen & Company.

Moll played "Bull" Shannon on NBC's "Night Court" from 1984-1992 alongside stars Harry Anderson and John Larroquette. His character formed a close friendship with the court's other bailiff, Roz Russell, played by Marsha Warfield. Bull was known for his catchphrase, "Ohh-kay," and a dim but sweet world view.

After "Night Court" ended, Moll contributed his trademark gravelly voice to various video games and comic book projects like "Batman: The Animated Series" as Harvey Dent and appeared in horror films like "Ghost Shark" (2013) and "Slay Belles" (2018).

He voiced Scorpion on the 1990s' "Spider-Man: The Animated Series" and had small parts in 1994's "The Flintstones," the Arnold Schwarzenegger comedy "Jingle All the Way" and "Scary Movie 2."

The towering actor — he was 6-feet 8-inches tall — did not join the reboot of "Night Court" starring Larroquette. The original "Night Court" finale ended with his character being abducted by aliens who needed someone tall to reach the things on their highest shelves.

Her fucking fupa looked like a pair of ass cheeks... like someone naked ran into her head first and got stuck. She was like "come eat me out" and I was like "nah I think I'll go snort some anthrax and light myself on fire instead"
