You claim women are the "weaker sex".  We are smaller and feeble, etc.  I won't argue that as pound for pound, that's generally true.  But what I want to know is if we are so fair and feeble, why, throughout the ages, have you controlled us, beaten us, raped us, mutilated us, murdered us, refused to educate us, denied us rights and even burned us at the stake?  Why are you so threatened by us?

We brought you into this world.  Is that what has driven fear into your little hearts?  That no matter what you build or destroy, you can never bear or sustain human life using just your bodies?  Are you frightened by our biological voodoo?

Every time men highlight their superiority in certain human characteristics, you dames chime in with "but we have the babies".

Wow.

For maybe twice, or three times...perhaps even four, you go through a few hours of labour, and proclaim yourself to be goddesses. It is the same claim people offer for multiculturalism...you get a variety of restaurants.

BFD.

Squeezing a baby out pales in comparison to digging ditches by hand in 40 degree heat...or -40 degree heat. Or laying a new roof in high winds and rain. Or laying 10,000 bricks in your new house. Pouring concrete. Welding shed frames. Laying pipes. Only men do it day in, day out.

Yes, having a baby is a moment of great physical duress...but get real. In the grand scheme of things, its a rare event in your life. One, I might add, that you submit to willingly, if not ravenously.

The world you live in is MAN made...and you need to respect that. Maybe then, you can have your silly and rather pointless "Women's Day".

Did you really compare giving birth to LIFE to building a house?

 :oeudC:

You may be the physically stronger sex but you sure as shit ain't the smarter of the two.  Women can build houses and dig ditches and weld shed frames and lay pipes.  We CAN do it (the war proved that point) but what you will never be able to do is bear life with your body.  HA!

PS - You didn't answer any of the questions presented in my post.  Try harder.

Try creating life without males.

If you CAN do these things, why DON'T you do these things?

Oh, wait...you need a war...

Fun Story:

Tolkien got into an argument with the editor of the publishing company regarding the spelling of dwarves and elves vs. dwarfs and elfs, the editor's argument was that the latter method was the one used in the dictionary, to which Tolkien replied to the effect of: I'm the one that wrote the dictionary, and that's not how it is in this.

As a Philologist and professor at Oxford Tolkien actually had a large part of writing the Oxford English Dictionary.

I was talking to Crow about women's equality in today's society.  Yes, we have the same rights afforded to us and yes, we are typically paid the same as men for the same work, but I argued that we still do not have the same opportunities for advancement afforded to us.  It was claimed that we aren't as good when it comes to management or leadership roles.  I claimed it was harder to climb corporate heirarchy due to things like the Old Boys Network.

Here's an article as promised Crow: http://www.academia.edu/330707/Exploring_the_Nature_of_the_Old_Boys_Network_In_the_United_States_Using_Electronic_Networks_of_Practice_to_Understand_Gendered_Issues_In_HRD">http://www.academia.edu/330707/Explorin ... ues_In_HRD">http://www.academia.edu/330707/Exploring_the_Nature_of_the_Old_Boys_Network_In_the_United_States_Using_Electronic_Networks_of_Practice_to_Understand_Gendered_Issues_In_HRD_

Here's an article outright refuting your claim that we suck as leaders:

Exactly, making statements that women are less capable in management roles is an erroneous claim. Women are prevented from assuming management roles because males in general have closed them out. How can you measure performance when you have such a small limited sample?.....Frightened little boys.

The truth is men are psychologically threatened by women and are reluctant to let them into positions of authority. Men are fixated on the weak, indecisive female stereotype because it feeds their fragile male ego. That's the bottom line and in today's world it's ridiculous. It's a hold over from an era where men oppressed women simply because they could......Bastards.

You are so naive. You engorge yourself at the trough of academic opinion as if it were the light of all truths.

None of those articles are anything more than a mass of anecdotes and opinions, and it is telling that the author in both cases is female. Thus, they have a built in bias.

Academia is NOT the unequivocal truth. It is, however, the mask that people wear when they wish to push an agenda.

Take, for example, the bible that started the cause of feminism, "The Female Eunuch". At the time it was considered a pillar of feminist enlightenment.

It has since been denounced and decried as merely propaganda for a political barrow. That it indeed ignited the debate that saw many wrongs righted was coincidental. The assertations in that book were based on anecdote and assumption, yet it was regarded as pure truth.

The premise that women are precluded from senior positions seems based on the assumption men fear women as leaders. This therefore assumes that corporations will ignore a talented manager based on gender and elevate a less talented candidate because he has a penis. Corporations are not that shallow. If they can make more money with a woman, they will elevate the woman.

In my experience, women are appalling leaders and motivators. There are exceptions to this observation. Take the bureacracy for example, where these opinion writers steer well clear of. In the public service, the discrimination is reversed. Women are pushed ahead of men as government departments try desperately to lead by example.

As a result we've seen a reduction in government effectiveness, levels of service decrease, and staff morale plummet. Males are being marginalised and are thus avoiding the government sector, leaving it to women to run. A clear example is the education authorities.

Men developed managerial and leadership quality over centuries of experience and necessity. Women think they possess it after just a few decades as members of the workforce.

Women will rise to seniority IF and WHEN they demonstrate they have the commensurate skills and aptitude. In the meantime, blaming a fictitious prejudice for their inadequacies serves no-one.

RW

Funny, studies show the opposite of your OPINION.
