Welcome Peaches. I hope you like it here as much as I do.

Anonymous

After two months and some 260+ posts in this forum, I've decided to move on...and I feel a need to explain my action out of courtesy toward anyone who might care.

I don't feel my posts were a waste of time...over the past 15 years I've probably racked up sixty or seventy thousand posts, so a couple of hundred more or less ain't a big deal.  I didn't come here to troll or be trolled, but to see what it would be like to hang out and converse with what has turned out to be a largely western Canadian population.  I thought I might learn something about Canadian politics and law enforcement and economics and environmental concerns.

It's largely been a disappointment.  A few of you have been friendly and quietly supportive, but there is a tiered hierarchy of members here and the privileged class has made free to impugn my motives and my integrity...but refused to step up and debate.

The more contentious topics remind me of life in Appalachia, where foreigners are unwelcome and any church affiliation other than deep water Baptist is highly suspect...and where after decades of mining out the seams, the coal companies have resorted to mountaintop removal as a means of getting the last bits of coal.  The working class is just as dirt-poor as it was a century ago, except now people have ancestors who died of black lung or in coal damp explosions instead of starving or shooting each other in moonshine wars.

Politically and environmentally, it reminds me of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, where Senator Mitch McMoonface has attained enough seniority to become Majority Leader and can get re-elected simply by running a couple of cheezy TV ads telling his constituents he's "protecting Kentucky coal" from Obama...a lie easily refuted by anyone who has ten minutes to spend on internet research.

My people were FROM Appalachia, they fought on both sides of our Civil War, and they (mostly) learned the hard way how capitalism works.  Out of 120 males in my high school class, a tenth of them were orphaned at age 4 by the Centralia, Illinois #5 Mine explosion of 1947.  I played high school football in the South Seven conference where two other schools had teams with the same percentage of mine disaster orphans.

So yeah, I am a hard guy to sell on the economic benefits of resource extraction by capitalists when few if any benefits accrue to the peons who get poisoned or crushed in the process, and the big profits all flow to some other part of the globe.  You people who think Alberta will get rich off of bitumen sands (and will have anything to show for it ten years from now) are sadly mistaken, and you'll be lucky if they haven't trashed the place so badly that you can't go back to farming it.  And that's all I've got for you.

At least in Appalachia, people are cordial to visitors and hospitable to travelers.   ac_razz

Im going to miss you here Peaches.  I wish I could have offered more debate but I found I agreed with you more than anything.  Even as you're leaving I'm in agreement with what you've said about the oil sands.  I've even said it myself.

Catch you on the flip :)

Peaches, you are major bag of gas.

You have pretty diction, verbose and effeminate just like Blurt. You know nothing about economy or industry and cherry pick misleading leftist editorials like Homoero because you lack practical knowledge and experience.

Thanks for letting us know you are packing your purse and leaving. How very Joe of you. :001_rolleyes:

Misleading editorials saying things like the oil sands cut down trees for its operations?

As do subdivisions, roads, schools and hospitals, but that's not the point. A good debater my ass. He's as lazy as Homo-ero. Reel is a good debater because he can back it up with solid knowledge and experience. Not this effeminate wanker Peaches. Anything he posts I could find on on Huff Poo or Salon in 10 seconds.

What's wrong with discussing public commentary?

I know removing trees is the price of industry, etc.  That's why I don't understand why the fuck anyone in Alberta or the rest of Canada would get defensive about it.  That's an ill thought response to a non issue.

Peaches has just said what I have said for years about the industrial import of cash out of our country and we'll be left holding the bag.  These oil companies don't owe Alberta or Canada anything.  Why the fuck are they given blind loyalty?

Peaches is a Romero clone. Searching far left for editorials that suit his agenda, and facts be damned. I laughed when the Seoul brother had to show him one of his articles was written by a total hypocrite.

As for clearing trees, it's the private sector that replants. Municipal and provincial governments not so much.

RW

The thing was about his article is that it was true.  Seoulbro did nothing but jump up and down like a child before agreeing with the research that was even confirmed by the Alberta government.  Shen, who according to Fash knows the sands like the back of her hand, confirmed deforestation as well.

It's a necessary part of the mining industry and operations.  Why are you treating this blog post with its provided research as some enviro-fiction?

Jesus wept.

Peaches was a very good writer, but a very poor debater. Just like Scouse he relied on half truth links. That is for Twitter, not forums.

RW

"Half truth" links make for discussion.  It's hard to debate simple facts.

It was not a debate. It was a link posted that he thought was interesting. It was 2 years old. IMO all he got from that point on was condescension. You may argue about the condescension but I could feel it. There was no civilized debate at all.
I've learned that if someone asks you a really stupid question and you reply by telling them what time it is, they'll leave you alone

It's not about how many trees are chopped down and replanted in Canada and never was. Peaches does not know shit about any of the topics the effeminate old wanker is interested in. RW defends his lazy, girly ass because they are both white socialists and she is a sucker for pretty diction.

I don't want the old fairy to leave, but since he has it is not like we lost any specific knowledge about anything. Breed Homo-ero and Blurt and you have Peaches.

I was civil.   :evilthoughts2:

I like people who generate posts.  Well, I did.
