I've always owned cars.......my husband has a company truck.

You'd buy one if you could afford it right.

I try not to waste money on things I don't need.....I don't an expensive SUV.


SUV's are mostly crap (and those fake SUV's like the RAV4).



They may have 4 wheel or AWD but they lack good stock factory suspension, clearance, or longevity. Plus they're mostly built with cheap alloys, will rust out from cheap paint.



The more you take these bubble-mobiles off road or in less than ideal conditions, the quicker you're going to be shopping for a replacement.



There's a reason that old Landcruisers, Wranglers, and Range Rovers still have a huge mark up.... simplicity and age tested designs.



Less is more.



The more they try to pack in modern electronics and gadgetry into  new vehicles, the more incapacitated we become.



And I say that as someone who worked in the automotive manufacturing business who had personal conversations on the side with higher ups that were cursing their own vehicle choices because of issues which couldn't or didn't ever get fixed.



When they say "5 or 7 year all inclusive warranty", what they're really saying is that you can't even change your own oil or spark plugs.



What they're saying is "buy another new vehicle"....
