The EU returns to it's member states the areas of sovereignty that they had taken over. The EU becomes a free trade bloc like ASEAN.

For What? They were a sovereign state before and they will be again. They traded with Europe before they entered the predecessor to the EU and they will continue to do so.

Something like a big version  of the EFTA is the future.
