CBS News reporter Weijia Jiang highlighted on Wednesday President Joe Biden's apparent hypocrisy on gun laws.

At the White House press briefing, Jiang noted that "Biden has spent most of his political career working on gun laws, on gun reform." As an advocate of more gun laws, then, Jiang asked whether Biden believes that "someone who is charged with possessing a firearm illegally should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law?"

Jiang did not cite Hunter Biden specifically, but she invoked the felony crime the first son admitted to. Hunter, of course, was offered pretrial diversion for that crime, not criminal prosecution.

Jean-Pierre, however, was not interested in touching the question with a 1,000-foot pole.

"I think I know where this question is going, and I'm just going to continue to say: As it relates to the case that we're seeing in Delaware, I'm just going to not speak to that," she responded. "It is an independent matter. This is up for the Department of Justice."

A recent city council meeting in an affluent, liberal California town descended into chaos after hundreds of residents protested a proposed homeless shelter.

Residents from Millbrae, a Bay Area town located 15 miles south of San Francisco, showed up to Friday's council meeting to tell San Mateo County leaders that they disapproved of a proposed project that would convert a hotel into a homeless shelter. The community center was filled to its 300-person capacity, with many additional residents standing.

The proposed plan, if approved, would turn a La Quinta hotel into a 99-unit apartment complex for vetted homeless individuals. The project is estimated to cost roughly $33 million.

Jordan Grimes, the political director of Peninsula Young Democrats, shared videos from the event on X, formerly known as Twitter.

CNN host Abby Phillip exposed on Tuesday the hypocrisy of Chicago Teachers Union president Stacy Davis Gates.

Davis Gates is a fierce opponent of school choice. She believes offering parents school choice is "the choice of racists." But apparently Davis Gates doesn't believe her rhetoric applies to her family.

Last week, it was revealed that Davis Gates does not send her son to public school. Instead, she exercised her choice to send him to private school.

Before interviewing the union boss, Phillip reminded viewers what Davis Gates herself has said about private schools.

She has called them "segregation academies of the Jim Crow South," according to Phillip, while championing public schools and promising that she "can't advocate on behalf of public education without it taking root in my own household."

Rep. Nancy Mace (R-S.C.) sent Democrats into a tizzy on Thursday when she brought attention to a "hypocritical" argument that Democrats are making to protect President Joe Biden.

Democrats claim the impeachment inquiry targeting President Biden is tainted by political motivations because, in their eyes, there exists no evidence to prove Biden family corruption. At the first House Oversight Committee hearing of the impeachment inquiry, Democrats pointed to Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) and her effort to impeach Biden two years ago as evidence that Republicans are unfairly targeting Biden.

But Mace quickly put an end to that argument.

The South Carolina Republican entered into the congressional record Democratic Rep. Rashida Tlaib's infamous demand in January 2019 that then-President Donald Trump, whom Tlaib called a "motherf***er," be impeached.

"Mr. Chairman, I request unanimous consent to enter an article into the record dated Jan. 6, 2019," Mace petitioned. "A member of this own committee, the day after she was sworn in, came into Congress and this article says 'Dem split response to her words "impeach the mother f-er"' the day after she was sworn in.

"Some might even say these kinds of comments, not only are they hypocritical by the left and their arguments today, but that this is an embarrassment to the time and people of this country," Mace added.

Bill Maher challenged Ron DeSantis over supporting Republican candidates who questioned election results. DeSantis pointed out the hypocrisy of Democrats disputing the election results of the 2016 election.

"Your friends in Hollywood were cutting ads telling the Electoral College to vote against Trump in the Electoral College because it was stolen," DeSantis shot back. "They said Russia stole the election, for years they said that. So don't act like this is like a unique thing in modern history of the country."

While the Trudeau government forces Canadians into poverty and takes away their purchasing choices, look what the Governor General whom Trudeau appointed is doing about her carbon footprint.

While ordinary Canadians are adjusting their grocery-buying habits and running up credit card debt to try to cope in the real world, Governor General Mary Simon spent nearly $25 million last year, including $1.2 million on a junket to Dubai. She ran up a $71,000 tab for limos in Iceland and $37,000 taxpayer dollars for a new wardrobe.

All of that is in addition to the Canadian Taxpayers Federation uncovering this week that the dry-cleaning bill at Rideau Hall alone runs to $1,800 a month.
