What kind of classic car is it Twenty Dollars?

Bricktop

That's an Alfa Romeo. One of the few they built that was any good. It has a throaty, distinctive exhaust note and is quite zippy for its time. But like all Alfa's, it suffered reliability and quality problems, especially electrical.

But they are highly collectable classics nonetheless.

Yes, thank you.

This is, as the other person mentioned, and Alfa Romero GTV. The one I had was a 1971. Wow that sounds old. It had a 1750 cc fuel injected engine, duel cam shafts. 5 speed gear box. Yes it did have a throaty sound to it. Some years later I had an 1976 Alfa Spider. With a bored out 2000 cc engine. It was an ex race car with a full roll cage. No heater or AC. It did have a radio. Wife at the time hated that car. Daughter loved it.

I've driven many, Fash. From luxury sedans right up to 32' stretch limousines and  party busses.

The one I drove this year was a Mercedes S series sports coupe which comes in at a price range between $150,000 to $225,000 US or $2 to 300,000 Canadian. That was quite an experience and whet my appetite for more. If you ever come to Vancouver, I'll give you a ride around the town in one.

Otherwise, the only sports car I ever owned was an old FIAT 124s.

But it rusted out and eventually got taken to the dump.

Those cars weren't made for the rainy wet coast of canada.

^ Clearly, kiebers likes the old vintage models.

Yeah, there's a place in Vancouver that has all those classic models.

Sometimes I pop by for a visit, take pictures.

I'll post the when I get the time.

Sometimes I get close enough to touch them.

That's really cool, to be able to touch the grill or the hood ornament of a rolls or a jag. Awesome cars.

However, I don't think they get much action. They're mostly for show and the owners bring 'em out oaccasionaly for show, car shows, etc.

I think you'd have to have a barn somewhere out in the boonies to house all those cars in one place.

Grew up with those in the driveway at different times. Bug eyed Sprite was first sports car my Dad bought. Drove the Healey with the 3 carb setup. It drove like it was on rails.  Shifted the others since I was too small to drive them. The Alpha was cool with dual overhead cams and dual Weber carbs. Dad used to tune the carbs with a waterhose held to his ear and the other end on the intake. Tuned it by tone. Neighbor raced and would bring his cars to my dad for the final tweak. He always got just a little extra out of them. Also had a Berkley for a short time that we put a Harley motor in. Bought a bare frame and built a formula 4 car in the garage. Body, nose and everything else had to be fabricated. NSU prince motor in it. Also had an MG for a while that I was able to borrow a few times.

That's why old Jock likes it.

One of my clients owns one. It's parked beside his Bentley. I find myself to be somewhat green with envy every time I walk pass the midnight blue beauty.  :icon_wink:
