Bricktop

Gold mining town with legalised brothels.

Perfect for Gordy...although its not exactly an aesthetic environment.

GORDY GAMBINO

Kalgoorlie is full of boongs. Yes brothels are legal but the whores that work there are terrible. Give me Patts any time.

Good for you brother is that is what you want. Iron horse jockey plans on moving to some Caribbean paradise when he retires. I like my farm and I do not intend to move anywhere despite how fricking frigid Saskatchewan gets in winter.

The perfect life means different things to do different people..

GORDY, Twenty Dollars, iron horse jockey and yourself have different ideas of what that is.

There are quite a few resource boom towns(formerly) across Western Canada. None have legalized prostitution though. They all punched well above their weight class and contributed a lot more per capita to the provincial and national bottom lines.

Thompson was a boom town too at one time. People came from all over Canada to work in the mines. Winnipeg politicians use use the revenues from Thompson to buy votes at election time. Thompson has been a bust town for some time now.

Things not so good when no-one wants to buy your rocks, are they?

No China, no Western Australia.

Better buy up on your "Made In China" goods.

Ah hell, that is nothing. Alberta, Newfoundland and my own province of Saskatchewan are worse. Alberta is in the worst shape because they have an incompetent  socialist government with not one elected member with industry experience. We are in the best shape of the three because we have a pragmatic leader who would never deliberately do anything to deepen the economic pain like Alberta and Newfoundland are doing.

Speaking of making things worse, Truedope is going to impose a national carbon pricing scheme(whether the provinces go along with it or not)  that will be even more painful for average Canadians than the one Nothead inflicted on Albertans. I will start a thread about it in Politics.

The squeeze on my paycheque is about to get tighter.
