What makes Iron horse jockey's job so amusing?

What exactly about your job makes you cynical?

Too many stupid rules. Seven and a half years until I retire.

Huh???

It was referencing his occupation as a train driver. Where's the amusement?

Stop being so protective. I'm a train buff!

My guess is after the tongue lashing you gave the railroader she may a tad cynical of your motives. That's my guess anyway.

Quote from: "Fashionista"I am curious why shin asked this question?

What has changed how you think about a concept, or altered how you perceive something or someone?

I try to think about thread topics that everyone can relate to.

A few things that have changed my outlook on life include:

How homeless people live

How illiterate people perceive things

What people who weren't born or raised in the U.S. think about our way of life

How most women make important decisions (I'm still working on this one)

How innocent minds like children and simple people make decisions with regards to their peers.

My brain has never permitted outside influences from taking hold.  I was kicked out of Sunday School at the age of four, for being "unruly."

this may be a loaded question, but if nothing can change your mind... then how do you learn new ideas, and consequently, what would you get out of perusing message boards?

But that is a someone and the question was something.

I meant it to be inclusive of people as well. Sorry about that.

Quote from: "Oberon"My wife.

This tells me you have grown as a person from the experiences marriage has taken you through.

I don't know if I'm brave enough to take that plunge.

I like your threads shin because usually most people can relate to them.

I enjoy shin's threads. Except for the fighting one.

You cannot reason with a drunk. He needs to sober up.

You should mind your own fucking business.

I should clarify...  I have never permitted outside sources to "brainwash" me.

It goes back to when I was four.  I was turfed for not following the rules.

Myself, and only myself, is ultimately responsible for what my brain soaks in.  And that's exactly what I do!

My thoughts and beliefs are solely based on what I deem them to be.  As an Atheist (no problem with other Religions), I have not had that influence in my life.

With absentee parents, I have not had their input either.

What I can truly do, is to view facts and figures without prejudice, if that makes sense...

And that is exactly what I do!
