Hardly anyone ever escapes by outrunning one.

Most people here that wander through Grizzly country will be armed.  Not necessarily to shoot the bear, but the muzzle blast is loud enough to make 'em run.



I am not a hunter, and don't ever plan to be, but in certain places here a 12 Gauge is sort of a necessity.  Not so much where I live, but out in the bush.



Guns are very loud, and a shot fired over the head of a Grizz will cause it to run the other way.
