You mean MOST of the West.

These parasites get no charity from Australia.

You have Syrian refugees in Australia.

They are Christian Syrians, and we have only a few, admitted after their refugee status was approved by the UN.

We don't take in border jumpers.

A few?

QuoteOn 9 September 2015, the Australian Government announced that it will make an extra 12,000 humanitarian places available in response to the conflicts in Syria and Iraq. The 12,000 people resettled in Australia as part of this intake will be granted a permanent visa.

These 12,000 places are in addition to Australia's Humanitarian Programme, which totalled 13,750 places for the 2015-16 financial year, and which will increase to 18,750 places in the 2018-19 financial year.

Between 1 July 2015 and 7 October 2016, 14,047 visas have been granted to people displaced by conflict in Syria and Iraq:

-8313 towards the additional 12,000 places (November 2015 – 7 October 2016)

-884 under the 2016–17 Humanitarian Programme to date

-4850 under the 2015–16 Humanitarian Programme

In this time, 10,244 people have arrived in Australia:

-5235 as part of the additional 12,000 places (November 2015 – 7 October 2016)

-1816 arrivals in 2016–17 to date under the annual humanitarian programme

-3193 arrivals in 2015–16 under the annual humanitarian programme

They're mostly Muslim Syrian refugees, since most Syrian refugees are Muslim. Australia is not discriminating based on religion.

I knew Crow was wrong. Australia is taking less muslims from Syria pretending to be refugees than Canada or Europe, but still far too many.

Taiwan is xenophobic too.

Following the failed open door refugee policies of countries like Germany is not xenophobia you stupid cow. It's called being responsible and putting your nation's interests first. Something all Western countries, including Canada are not doing anymore.

If there's going to be over 18,000 accepted, they're mostly going to be Muslim.

If we are going to take this backwards ideology in, at least send them up to the Arctic in camps. As soon as the civil war is over, they go back. Private money can pay for it too.

Sorry, Rom.

The government has already stated it will only bring in Syrian Christians.

My understanding that xtians get priority(as they should), but muslimes will still be allowed.

They will find 18,000 Xtians.

I hope so for Australia's sake. Muslims from Syria are not real refugees.

Hey, does Australia allow refugees a quickie pathway to citizenship like we foolishly do?

The government has already stated it will only bring in Syrian Christians.

There has been no official statement on that, and there aren't that many Syrian Christians.

QuoteWhen former prime minister Tony Abbott first announced Australia would take in 12,000 extra refugees fleeing the conflict in Syria, some members of his party called on him to give Christian refugees priority.

But the Department of Immigration was quick to clarify this would not be the case.

The head of the government's Syrian Refugee Resettlement Task Force, Peter Vardos, told the ABC that Christians would not be given priority to be resettled in Australia.

"There is no selection based purely on religion, as has been suggested in some quarters," Mr Vardos said recently while on a trip to a Syrian refugee camp in Jordan.

"It is a non-discriminatory program across the board. And I am confident that by the end of this process when you look at the make-up of the 12,000 people they will come from a range of ethnicities and religions."
