I had to step in to say I wrote those rules with Oberon's approval prior to presentation.

Than, what's the fucking problem?

Twenty Dollars

Quote from: "Oberon"
Quote from: "kiebers"The rules have been posted. They were discussed and worked on for a while prior to the 8th of January. We discussed them again and decided to adopt the rules that RW spent a great deal of time on months ago. Rules will never be 100% acceptable to every person. The staff feels these will best serve the forum at this time. If there comes a time we feel changes are needed, we will make them.

Yes, we also now have rules and guidelines for the moderators to operate under. Those are based on fairness.

We have never discussed any kind of parliamentary procedures, and since this is a privately owned forum...

You keep emphasising this is a PRIVATE forum, like you're the holder of some intriguing wisdom.

We KNOW its a private forum, Tex.

But you seem unable to grasp the fact that without members posting, its a fucking DEAD PRIVATE forum.

What we don't need is a set of rules which declare, ipso facto (thats a legal term, look it up), if you conduct yourself in a way the staff don't like, you'll get punished. And the staff won't accept gore, porn, PRIVATE information (not PERSONAL), libellous material, or any post which contravenes law. One rule.

Herman did his job in accordance with those rules, so where's the need for them??

We're still "governed" by a mentality that is all about punishing miscreants; and I promise you this...if with your "rules" Mel will still create moronic threads, Twenty Dollars will still make intelligence, and Dinky Diana (whom you let back in) will still play dress ups and treat this place like a personal joke only he gets.

You have missed the whole point. You're playing policeman instead of motivator and initiator. You think a "mod" is a akin to a school monitor, not a forum contributor.

Fuck your rules, and your forum. This is bullshit.

The people here are adults. Treat them accordingly. Those that do not behave accordingly do not belong here. THOSE, you can shut out.

Not important what you think of me. Good post tho.

I'm yet to meet anyone who likes you anywhere S,emen...  ac_wot

Must be a tough time if you have that effect on people in real life.

They do enjoy the phony nazi  dishwasher. Check your posts at the other place. Asians seem to like nazis. Enjoy while you can.

Aryan

While I can? Is that a threat

Why in the world would threaten someone broke, and stuck? Try pity.

Aryan

A 5 ft 4 inch pensioner threatening a 6 ft 1, 34 year old man does sound a bit silly now you come to mention it.  ac_biggrin

Twenty Dollars

Did you instantly grow 6 inches? You haven't a clue about me Dishmajor.

Aryan

Most people on here and VF have seen pics of you, your Facebook profile and even your bank details..... you really should tighten up on your security.

Quote from: "Annie"Maybe just change the name "rules" to "common sense".

I agree Annie..

I never felt written rules  were necessary, but I realize some people like that kind of structure..

Renee for example was one of those people.

Blurt

Written rules are always useful; however, they can become a liability when they're so intricate that members start finding ways to dance around them.

Keep rules simple. That way, mods and admins have some leeway in their application, and members feel they're treated like adults.

There will always be naysayers, of course. You can't please all of the people all of the time, I guess.
Aimin\' to misbehave.
