Bill Ward was not part of it. Contract dispute.

How much did the concert set you back, moneywise?

Twenty Dollars

Quote from: "Bricktop"They are legends.

They are. Bet it was a great show.

$200 a seat.

But that was premium front row (5th row to be precise).

Still a good deal.

So i noticed some unfamiliar faces in the B-52's pics. I know at least one of their original members had died over teh years. I could probably just Google this, but I think they had a bassist called Sarah Lee who had a heroin problem.

But, neither band has done anything in years..

If they were still a popular act it would be a good deal..

They would probably have played a small venue here like a casino.

Streeheart is touring again. If the tickets are reasonably priced, I will go see them.

There's only three originals, Fred and the 2 ladies.

The original guitarist died of AIDS.

They were the core of the group. Bass, drums and keyboard were largely session/touring musos.

I was surprised at how punchy and gutsy their sound was.

The music world has changed.

Many artists of the past haven't sold new music, because CD sales have tanked. As many musos have testified, the music industry based on selling CD's has changed. It has been corporatised to the extent that it doesn't matter how good you are, but how many units you can move. So, we see drek like Myley Cyrus, Justin Bieber, Britney Spears and others selling CD's to teen girls so that Sony can make a lot of money with little effort.

But the bands that could play their music live, and excite the crowd with energy and musicianship are touring more and more, because that's where their revenue comes from.

Musical acts do not make money anymore from albums. They make their money playing live.

Unfortunately, the rain god was in a foul mood. This, in a climate where it typically never rains between October and April!!! Bastard.

We got drenched...but better that than 40C and getting baked.

Why don't you share with the board the time you went to see a Boyzone reunion and got so excited when they came on stage you slipped and cracked your false hip.   :laugh3:

Or wait, was that Blurt? I always get mixed up with you 2!
