Quote from: "shin"We're having an unusually mild winter. Today, we're set to break a heat record for this day in February if it reaches the predicted 62 F.

But,  you've also had a lot of cold and snow too?

Not this year. There hasn't really been snow on the ground for more than a few consecutive days this winter.

Most of the USA has had a snowy winter.

there will be lots of flooding but on the upside the  10+ year drought will be over so good for farmers and  will drive down the cost of produce we get shipped up here from southren U.S. states like California.

Which might help cut back inflation on produce  a bit which is good news shoppers bad news for  residents in those flood prone regions.

Did you see where that dam broke in Northern California weebs? I forget how many thousands of people had to be evacuated.

Yeah 200+K evacuated plus the erosion on the spillway is  not good esp when it is heading towards earthen dam which could undermine it and then that is not good at all it is SHTF for down stream residents.

Great informative Video showing the true extent of the damage :(

It does seem very unusual. We're known to have the worst of winters among the states in the Midwest, but somehow the quad cities area has been relatively dry and temperate.

Tomorrow, it's supposed to reach the 70s. Today, we should see high 60s.

I thought Chicago was having a harsh winter.

Not this year. Where did you hear that?

I don't know about Herman, but I have seen so much cold and snow this year in the USA, I assumed Chicago got it too.

I bet you're looking forward to summer.

It gets too humid here for my liking.

We almost never get humidity here in the foothills of the Rockies.
