The thing is expensive bottles such as this are not guzzling whiskies.



They are to be savored, in moderation. I bought my bottle of Caol Ila in June last year. It is around 2/3 full still. I don't sit down and drink glass after glass. I will have a small dram before dinner, or after a beer...and SHE measures it out because she is a rather frugal lady.



She does not drink whisky, but is interested in the history and culture of the liquor. She can tell an Islay variant from a Speyside style with ease.



She sees it like me...as a hobby...and given that a bottle will last a year, maybe more...it's not that expensive.
