I HATE mathematics.

I HATE that the education system regards it as a critical subject.

It should be taught only as a niche subject to students who's ambition demands mathematical expertise. That, I think, is about 1%.

I never went to college or university and I have to make calculations all the time as a wellsite consultant.

I know you play guitar, but do you play the violin or fiddle as Blazor calls it too?

A barbeque is a grill(I still say you're wrong, lol), and a violin is a fiddle.

Glad to teach you some of the Southern ways lol. We speak all kinds of ways all over the U.S.

I still say its a regional thing, and that neither one of us is wrong  :001_tongue:

And that a fiddle and violin are the same, just depends on what type of music you play on it.
I've come here to chew bubble gum, and kick ass. And I'm all out of bubblegum.

Its going, we are rearranging while things are figured out. Open for at least 2-3 more months. After that, dont know.

And there could be an extension after that if they get some work. Are you actively or passively looking for new opportunities?

Thats just it, they dont know if they can make it work with the limited space and the way the building is set up. All I know, is that if it works out, we "might" stay, and if it dont, then at least they cant say we didnt have enough time to get everything out. Work is slowing down again too, its our slow period.

I havent been actively looking, just kinda helping them and collecting a paycheck til something is figured out.

Horse hockey! My gf sucks at math, and shes late for everything, and cant calculate time properly. Drives me nuts.

Me and my one friend always competed for top of the class in Advanced Math, Math was my best subject. Algebra on the other hand, should be optional lol.

Would you have preferred they just pulled the bandage back quickly rather than keep extending the death of the company? You could have been in a new and stable position by now.

Yes, that was originally what I was hoping. At least knowing there is another 2 months no matter what has helped with my stress, the not knowing when it was about to close was driving me crazy. Still is, but bought me some time lol.

I would prefer to have had a set date and find a new gig rather than keep extending the inevitable. And something that pays a lot better and is closer to home.

Heres the thing, when Obama rolled into town, this place went into lockdown mode. Companies closed up, or moved, and the town was drying up at an alarming rate and went on life support. I got laid off in 2009 and that company closed down (advertising). People didnt have the funds to advertise. Was no longer in their budget. Its been that way a LONG time. Hell thats why I took the job in another town, just so I had work. No one was hiring, at all. Btw, this is a railroad town, and I think when Obama killed coal, that was one of the things, but not the only thing. Ever since Trump rolled into town, things FEEL on the up. I've seen a lot of new places in the past couple years. Jobs are coming back. So there is hope my friend that I may be able to do something better. If they stay open where Im at, Im gonna ask for a raise, and if they turn me down, I'll find something else. I'll hate to do it, but I cant keep doing what Im doing at the same rate of pay another 9 years. Something tells me they aint gonna stay open much longer past the 2 month period, but I dont know.
