Believe it or not, I don't mind it all that much, given that it can shape our future whether we care to admit it or not. As for our social platform... yeah, it doesn't have to consume and dominate conversation.

But most Americans/Canadians don't really care about politics outside their borders, unless of course their country folk are actively involved in some form or another.

America, much like Australia, is self-sustaining.
We could close our borders tomorrow, have nothing to do with the rest of the world and see you again in 10 000 years... we just don't trust the rest of the world not fucking things up in the interim.
