He was a prog who would put most of our members out of work if he had his way. Half the stuff we haul he would stop if he was pm. Not to mention that he was a big fan of increased immigration/refugees. Don't get me wrong, our corrupt union execs were in bed with the guy. But, the rank and file could see through his phony baloney.

I was somewhat involved in Montreal's Fantasia Film Festival.



The yearly happening (held at Concordia University, my alma mater) is also where I met Tarantino and Carpenter, among others.



The crowds go wild over Asian cinema, and the fest has opened its doors to films from around the world over the last twelve or fifteen years.



Miike is a hero. His Ichi the Killer is what brought contemporary Japanese genre cinema to my attention.
