Canadian women apparently have cold feet in the bedroom.



In a list of nationalities with the "World's Most Sexually Charged Women," Canada didn't even rank, while places like the U.S. and Germany made the cut.



Scandinavian women came in hot and heavy with four of their nations possessing the highest sex drives in the world. In Sweden, 38% of women even reported having sex drives that are well above average.



Dating website Victoria Milan - which specializes in extramarital affairs - conducted the study by looking at the most active of the 1 million profiles created by women on their site from 20 different countries. They then asked women how they would rate their own sex drives to determine which countries were the most sexually active.



In a statement, CEO and founder of Victoria Milan, Sigurd Vedal says, "The analysis shows that the more comfortable life is and once these elements have been taken care of, women feel powerful and sensual - and have the time to indulge and invest in their sex life. Women love sex, and they deserve it to have it whenever and wherever they want."

In sexless Japan, almost half of single young men and women are virgins: survey



Talk about a shrinking population. A survey of Japanese people aged 18 to 34 found that almost 70 percent of unmarried men and 60 percent of unmarried women are not in a relationship.



Moreover, many of them have never got close and cuddly. Around 42 percent of the men and 44.2 percent of the women admitted they were virgins.



The study was conducted by the National Institute of Population and Social Security Research.



Boosting the birthrate is one of the coveted goals of the Abe administration, which has declared it will raise the fertility rate from the current 1.4 to 1.8 by 2025 or so. The government hopes to achieve this by making it easier for families to raise children, such as by increasing the places available at nursery schools.



The survey suggests it may also have to find a way to play cupid.

I've heard that one about young Japanese not bothering to have sex anymore, but I don't believe it.



In a new investigative report, The Guardian's Abigail Haworth takes a dive into the sexual travails of young people in Japan, asking (as the headline suggests), "Why have young people in Japan stopped having sex?"



The article itself is a worth a read. It has some interesting anecdotes, but the overarching point — that Japanese youths simply "can't be bothered with sex" anymore — spurred New York Times reporter Hiroko Tabuchi
