On one of our stops in small-town country, this sculpture caught my eye.

That is a PHOTOGRAPHY thread!!!

I know you have some nice pics, Renee.

Ante up.

Sorry I couldn't resist....but I'm trying.

I've posted enough of my pics in previous threads, digital and otherwise.

Besides, most of my really nice pics are lost to me, as are a great many other things. They reside on hard drives and on CDs that I no longer have access to.

Real photography is not about the device...but seeing what you see...

I've learned that if someone asks you a really stupid question and you reply by telling them what time it is, they'll leave you alone

Blurt

I wanted to post more pix but, damn! my PC just experienced its third hardcore crash in as many months. I lost everything again. I'll see if I have anything left on my keys or in my online storage somewhere. One of these days, a window will pop up on my screen but instead of saying "Windows has detected a hard disk failure on this computer" it will say "We told you so! Goodbye for realz!" Time to consider the purchase of a new machine.

I don't remember exactly where the "Nobody spoke for ages" photo was taken, Fash. We crossed so many tiny towns along the way.
Aimin\' to misbehave.

Blurt

Thanks, Leo, but no thanks.

Proprietary crap is anti-democratic.

Fact is, my laptop is 7 years old and I've carted it everywhere with me... India, the Caribbean, Europe; it's taken quite a beating. HDD failure is no surprise, really.

My latest build was around Kaby Lake, since that's the last op that Windows 7 supports...

And Windows 7 is the best OP ever!

You have done pretty well for yourself sponging off of others.

Proprietary?

Software developers have made a fortune developing apps for MacOS and iOS!!

These are small developers who would NEVER get a look in under the Microsoft dictatorship.

And their ability to develop software is enhanced by the reliability and consistency of the operating system.
