Vanautu seems like a place where they have never heard the words rush hour or rat race. If they have a couple decent golf courses  I would consider a trip there.

There's not even a traffic light in the entire country.



The bus system is amazing. The buses are just mini-vans, and they just cruise anywhere. If you want a bus, just hang around and wait for one to come along, and hop on board. Fare is the same, $1 per person per ride. They drop you off where you want to go. There are no bus stops.



Crime is rare, and is usually alcohol or kava fuelled. Very few police...laws are enforced by village chiefs.



Yet those who have visited are touched by its serenity, simplicity and peace.
