First of all, I don't operate under any old-school European left/right artificial political division. People who are unable to think for themselves are free to do so, however. I won't stop them. The need you feel to fit the realities of our world into comfortable little boxes is entirely understandable, if misguided. Once you come into contact with folks who live by a different set of lights than you do, you'll notice that there may be no inherent contradiction in being, say, fiscally conservative and socially liberal or vice versa. Perhaps some day you'll leave your flat and meet some of them.



Second, I've never been against any movement that seeks to improve people's lot in life. With this exception, however: I will always be against any movement that seeks to improve people's lot in life by worsening the lot of others.
