All second hand Mercs are cheap. If you want to burn 50K, buy a 100K new Mercedes and wait a week. Those things lose value faster than a burning house.

I have a  Volkswagen Jetta. It's comparable in resale to most Japanese brands, except for the Honda Civic. They really hold their value.
