Well, they're sure building a lot of new condos for rich foreigners in Vancouver lately, S'mel.



Yet the shite Mayor Robertson is shrinking the size of the roads all the time.



So, we'll soon have twice as much density/people and half as many nivigable roads to drive on.



That'll make it twice as hard for people like yourself who depend upon them for their livelihood to get around.



That's one hell of a great way to plan a city, eh?.



But at least your condo'll be worth a million dollars, S'Mel.

Working age people have been leaving Vancouver for a while. Schools  are closing as the number of students is declining. Working class people  with kids can't afford to  live there. If the overall tax bite keeps getting bigger all of Canada will be like that.

Not everyone can have a high paying job.  People still need to buy groceries, gas, eat at restaurants, buy their pricey coffees, drive thru at that fast food joint they pretend they dont eat at but they do, 24 hour store for smokes and other drunken cravings at 3am, events etc....without these people working at these places, you'd be fucked...these people deserve fair wages and health benefits.  



The least Canada can do is offer free education for citizens born in Canada.  Its absolutely ridiculous that is costs near half a million dollars in edcuation to become a doctor.  Thats senseless when there really are smart people able to become a doc but dont have the funds to become so.

I worked as a waitress in a Chinese restaurant..



I made minimum wage, but with tips I made more than the owners who had their lives invested in the business..



Personally, I feel sorry for small business owners who are being forced by governments to pay more in wagesthan they can afford..



Many of the service jobs that pay minimum wage are disappearing due to technology anyway..



Rapid increases in wages will make them disappear faster.
