You're a wine collector?  So I probably shouldn't tell you about the time I lost a Gaja Sori Tilden in the Pearson Airport?  :D

Sounds like iron horse jockey..

Though I don't know about the last one..

Are you an ex-alcoholic and do you consider Islam a barbaric ideology by any chance?

Well, I don't drink as much as I used to.  I count my drinks monthly, rather than weekly or daily.

Islam, well it depends on the individual.  Australia's 2nd closest neighbor is the most populous muslim country in the world, and we don't have any issues with our Indonesian immigrants.  Some of those from the middle east, however...

It's top left for the main board..

Let me check your permissions to see if there's a problem.

I think it's set up so new members can't start threads.  I think we set that up when Mel was account cycling after getting banned.  Check the permissions on the new member level rank.

I thought I changed that..

Okay, I'll take a look.

You may have but that's the only thing I can think was done that would prevent that.  :)

It seems I didn't change it..

He can start new topics now.

Thank you, its fixed now.

That is pretty much the exact opposite of myself. I am socially liberal, and market based solutions are best in my opinion. I want a limited role for government.

I am not a libertarian though. A safety net is necessary.

When I was much younger I was the archetypal free market, every-man-for-himself, yuppie.

Then i grew up.  Seeing the life experiences of other people helped, as did becoming a Christian.

I am a registered financial planner.

I was a chartered accountant for 30 years (US equivalent CPA).  These days, I specialize in business consulting and troubleshooting, and do a bit of forensic accounting and expert witness work.

Quote from: "Thiel"Welcome Harry.

I am a business owner and I work 100 plus hours per week. I don't get to post as often as I like.

Politically, I am a fairly doctrinaire libertarian. Government is far too big and too expensive.

I'm a wine collector.

I am 50.

And I am not in a relationship.

Is that 100 hours efficient and productive?

It varies.  I'm semi-retired, so whilst the hourly rate can be good, it's not full time, and if the client is struggling I'm generally quite lenient.  I don't maintain a commercial office or advertise for work.  It's all referral stuff.

Then oh shit the account has been drained quicker than a goon on welfare day in Redfern.

I became qualified in the early 80's, a few years after the bottom of the harbour stuff.  It was a transitional phase, because throughout the 70's the High Court had passed down so many questionable verdicts under Chief Justice Barwick that paying tax had to some extent become voluntary.  The 1980's required a different mindset.  That's not to say that all the skullduggery had ceased by then.  Far from it.

I used to do a lot of tax work, and that was one of the reasons I largely retired.  I just got fed up up with every other client wanting to rip the system.  These days I prefer to help hard working people make money, or find out where there hard-won earnings have gone.

If you have a problem with people keeping what they earned I think you made a wise decision retiring from the profession.

Hello there Harry. Nice to have ya aboard. Any particular forums you come from before besides the mentioned third rail?
