Yup, my Wop knife arrived today.  That was quick shipping!

The comb is just a legality...  the blade shall be along shortly, I'm sure.  Of course, I would never install the blade, since it would then be a real switchblade, which is prohibited here.  I could be prosecuted if I did that, but that's the least of my worries...  The uncontrollable urge to transform into a greaser, and then go out looking for knife fights is my real fear, if I installed the blade!  Either that, or I suddenly transform into a greasy Wop...

I really don't want to bust out a gallon pail of Brylcreem...

Quote from: "Fashionista"Congratulations on your new purchase Mel.

You talkin' Jive to me, Turkey?  Imma slice ya!

All kidding aside, I like to have small collections of things that most households would not have.  I should sell the Kenworth and open a Curio shop...

That looks like a handy little item. Where did you order it from?

Just to let you know, the comb doesn't actually 'catch' properly in the 'open' lock position, since the spring is meant for a real blade, which is heavier.  In other words, the light plastic comb is 'overpowered' by the spring, at least on this blade.

Nonetheless, this version with just the plastic comb is $84.99 USD, just so you know.  If you would like this particular switchblade comb, and the actual blade shipped separately too, that would run $99.99 USD.  Plus shipping, of course.

There are many cheaper models (mostly Chinese) and many more expensive models available also (US and Italian).  Rule of thumb:  Anything under $100 = Asian Made.  Anything $100 or more = Italian or US made.  There are some (claimed) French made Switchblades there for around $50, but I didn't verify how much, if any, of the knife is actually genuinely Made in France.

PM me if you want the website...  Not sure I should post it on the board!

The comb is only there for show, so I didn't expect it to work. And yes, I will pm you in a minute.

Don't you have a brother who's a cop?

I don't have a brother. I have one older sister and one younger sister. Fashionista's brother is a cop.

Either way, this is all legit.  It's up to the end user to decide what he does with the pieces of a knife.  Personal responsibility over getting babysat by the Government, is what I'm all for.  Stupid people will find a way to cause damage with a butter knife!

My PM should work now.

You can tell a quality Switch, by simple things like the brass liners.  You can see that in my pic...  Brass is softer than the blade itself, and that combination works well together for an item like this, that sees metal-on-metal friction and wear.

And it would fit nicely in your purse. ac_lmfao

Ha! I had a switchblade comb when I was a kid lol... and when I had hair lol. Maybe I could order one, whip it out in public, and comb my goatee lol.
I've come here to chew bubble gum, and kick ass. And I'm all out of bubblegum.

When I was a kid, there was a store in the mall called San Francisco (I think) that sold cheap Chinese SwitchCombs!  They were cheap junk!

Anyone here remember the store San Francisco?  Was it a Canadian thing, or were they in the States also?  I do believe they are long gone...

Blazor

Hell could even get 'em at the flea market til they condemned the whole building. Sad day that was. No more martial arts supplies, no more army surplus stuff, no more Confederate flag stuff, etc.

Vancouver has a flea market like that also!  Went a couple of times...  Am certain that 25% of the shit there is probably stolen.
