I read this about the new law.

It seeks to clarify the country's sex trafficking law to make it illegal to knowingly assist, facilitate, or support sex trafficking, and amend the Section 230 safe harbors of the Communications Decency Act (which make online services immune from civil liability for the actions of their users) to exclude enforcement of federal or state sex trafficking laws from its immunity.

I support it.

Its a double edged sword. Another malicious intrusion in the guise of "Its for your own good".

This reminds me of the over the top rhetoric surrounding the Harper government's bill C-51 that was supposed to persecute eniviro activists.

LOL..its anything offensive to victims, triggers ,sexual bias, degrading or derogatory terms, anythings a victim might see as an "unsafe" environment , we had it happen on BF , made us change a title of a thread because it was flagged for promoting violence against women , you may agree with the ideology of it but you have to imagine how it will be abused by people with hidden agendas , this ACT will change the entire internet and shut down innocent opinions because the powers that be will also be controlling this law too..Google search has already been manipulated they even blacklist sites so they never appear in search

Reddit is cracking down on community marketplaces.

The forth largest site on the web announced that it would ban transactions for illegal sales, including firearms, drugs, fake ID's, and sex on Wednesday. A post on r/Announcements states that "Reddit is not intended to be used as a marketplace" and reminds users that they are "dealing with strangers on the internet."

[/list]

QuoteAlthough the ban targets illegal trades like those facilitated in r/DarkNetMarkets — which kept tabs on items for sale on the dark web — some relatively innocuous subreddits were also shut down.

According to the post, r/beertrade, a community for swapping local brews internationally, was banned "due to the controlled nature of alcohol" because "Reddit is not built to ensure that the sales are happening legally."

Other banned communities include r/cigarmarket, r/scotchswap, r/gunsforsale, r/airsoftmarket, r/stealing, r/shoplifting,r/deepfakes,r/weeddeals,r/shatterdeals,r/Momdeals,r/Mompics,r/cloneshare,r/brasstrade...etc
