flowers from local florist

This is something my mom always like, especially these Christmas theme flowers.

I like poinsettias.

I'm pretty much clueless when it comes to plants, but I have to admit they do look really nice despite my lack of interests in flowers, lol.

There's an area South of Barrie called the Holland Marsh. It has some of the richest farm land in Canada. Most if not all of those farms are owned by Dutch immigrants or their descendents. It's home to lots of greenhouses.

Here in Manitoba too, many greenhouses are owned by Dutch people.

My inlaws place.... dry as a bone.

I want to spend a few days there in order to alleviate their ravages of time. She's got a second lot of new knees and can't move beyond the house, and he's running out of energy....yet still tries to water the patch of lawn through the living room window where they watch the butcher birds, top knot pigeons, galahs, and occasional parrots.

It brings them happiness... they're in their mid eighties.

So I want to go up there within a couple weeks again, aerate the soil in their living room view so grass has a boundary and chance, repot stuff in their back verandah then plant the pots in a close but pretty configuration.... get a load of mulch on the remaining garden beds (hasn't been done for years and the sun has cooked off what was there), clean out their bird bath of algae (and run a mesh of stripped copper wiring from my old appliances on the bottom the bowl to stop algae growth), and trial a tree drip feeder I've seen on YouTube , but it's done in imperial (which does me head in trying to translate multiple pieces meant to fit up).

If somebody...anybody here can work through imperial to metric of this system, I'd be very very appreciative.

I can come up with buckets or bigger water holders, and do the fittings. My father in law goes out at least twice a day in the 36-43c heat of day to water what he can, but his strength is rapidly fading. He's got two trees he lives for, and I'd like him to not have to water them constantly. He gets shakey after and has to take naps... he has to brace himself against objects but he won't give up.

The shame in his eyes is unsettling...

So if anybody can help me with the plumbing calculations or conversions, thank you. I'll do it somehow otherwise but if somebody helps me with this thing, I can spend more energy helping him with other stuff.

About 14k acres.

They have lots of land.

Frood

Dry shit takes a lot of land...

A few hundred acres in North America would rival the output.
