Quote from: "Berry Sweet"What inspires you to take a certain shot?  Anyone have tips about angles, lights and depth?

BTW Berry was just wondering which new camera did you got?  If you're using any large sensor compact or interchangeable lens camera then Brick, Vanguy and I should be able to give you some of our old tips.

It's a Canon EOS M6.  I eventually want to get other lenses.

**I cant figure out how to get the built in flash to work ar my request.  Any help?

The EOS M6 is a Canon mirrorless camera. They have a very limited number of EOS-M lenses. If you set the camera to P mode you should be able to summon the flash by pressing a button.

You take some really good pictures TVG..

I didn't realize the variety of birds that are in Vancouver until you started sharing images.

They're actually not that good. I get so many blurry photos. I guess it's about having fun. We're not making money. Just a hobby. I see good photos from caskur, bricktop, and zetsu.

You are being a bit hard on yourself.

I have seen your pictures. They are pretty good.

Bricktop

Every photographer claims their photos aren't that good. We're our own worst critics.

Where was the dock and balcony picture with the lovely cat taken Blurt?

Blurt

The dock was on a friend's property in the Laurentian mountains north of Montreal and the cat is my sorely missed Milan on our outdoor breakfast table at the apartment we had in downtown Montreal.

Both pix were taken about six or so years ago.

I look forward to seeing them..

I believe I posted pictures of my kitty in this thread.

Blurt

You did.

A cute and fluffy one, that kitty.

Except for the last two years, I've always had a cat.

I like dogs, too, but have never yet had the pleasure of being owned by one.

Nice pics Blurt, especially the macro shots!
I've come here to chew bubble gum, and kick ass. And I'm all out of bubblegum.

You still live in that apartment in Montreal  Blurt?

Superb view view from your balcony.

Thanks, folks.

Gaon, to answer your question, no, I don't live in Montreal anymore. My ex and I lived in that apartment for nearly 8 years. It was an awesome place. We broke up and I rode out the rest of the lease on my own (leases are yearly, for the most part, in Quebec). I have more pics of the place on my other device or online somewhere. I'll try to find them.

Rent was $1,318/month (1 bedroom) + utilities.

That's about what a two bedroom, two bath condo with underground parking would cost in Calgary.
