I would tell those people off if I was there... I'd say, "GET THOSE BABIES WARM, THEY"RE NOT BLOODY TOYS"

Sadly I gotta admit too it isn't really a safe place for a baby quail run around at.. lost some of my birds in the past b/c of very similar reasons just by wandering around the house and definitely not repeating the same mistake again.  ac_unsure

I've raised or supervised many chickens from 1 day old... and budgies...



but I made a HUGE mistake with 3 Peking ducklings putting them in a bowl of water... one died, one got a broken/dislocated leg.

Did you capture the budgies or buy them and raise them?

My husband bought me a baby female.... after two years, we were given a male, then they started breeding.. then I got an aviary and introduced other budgies. I had hundreds.

Tbh that's a pretty good question and even I'm kinda stumped on lol, from what I hear most ppl online the baby's colours will change as they grow older, but the shade will remain very similar.  The yellow chick will likely have white feathers(can be male or female), while the other brown or light brownish one will likely be traditional coloured button quails(hen is usually brown and the rooster usually has blue feathers with red breast feathers and a black and white feathers on the front of it's neck)
