Here are some of the baby button quails I've bought just 2 days ago, lol my mom likes to nickname them little peanuts since their head are almost the size of their body and the beak looks like the peanut tip.

How did you become interested in raising quail Zetsu?

Zetsu

Good thing they too small to keep a person full, lol otherwise it would suck for me since it's been my favorite little critter after discovering them at my local petsmart.

I haven't been in a pet shop in a hell of a long time. But, I didn't think had quail in stock.

Lol I happen to discovered some at the pet store, before peasant and emus were one of my favorite since they're fat and plump, but then it was before I discovered the existence of button quails and all other types, not to mention they can't fly away from me, lol.  ac_drinks

It's something I really never expected too, in China and the US ppl usually just see them as poultry, but surprisingly it's now a popular trendy bird for everyone to own, lol.

I would have thought the only place to buy quail was from farmers like me.

Think the pet shops just directly buy the big quails from the farmers and mark them up a bit to sell, aside from the button quail which is the only kind I've known to see people breeding them.  But now more and more farmers are advertising their quails for sale on Kijiji, starting at $10 for one Coturnix quail.  And more for the fancy California/Bobwhites and Mountain quails.  ac_drinks

I am fairly certain the city of Toronto might have something to say about people keeping emus in their back yards. Hell, I don't think they allow a few hens for eggs.

Haha yea, I'm not too familiar with emus but wouldn't be surprised if the neighbours would find them too noisy in the morning, or leaving a trail of poop in every room they wander into.  But most important I completely forgot they from Australia, land of like the majority of the world's hyperactive and ferocious animals, lol.
