Odi, I'd be happy to park our motor home beside that lake.

Its gonna be a secondary cabin.. Just big enough for a sauna and small living quarters.

You are a lucky man. I live in an apartment in North Surrey.

I dont know about the costs in Canada... Taxes and such..

But in here, you can afford this..

The fact that its built on stilts, its like keeping a gym membership.

Its a nice relaxation spot.

No average working person could afford property like that close to Vancouver.

What a beautiful home and yard.

That's how we live in the DC/Maryland/Virginia areas. Well, some areas at least.

Those were some excellent homes. I have never lived in a house in my life. I have lived in apartments in Russia, Israel and now Vancouver. I would love to have a yard.

That's kind of sad Gaon.

The homes in my neighborhood near DC were like this. My sons loved playing on the driveway and would play street hockey in front of the house. Red brick colonials are the most popular types of homes in that area.

Is that a river or a lake beside it?

It is a small lake... Not too big for a fishing boat with a 5 hp engine.

A lot of bass in it.

It must be nice to live near a lake. The only thing that concerns me will be the flooding and loch ness monster.  :laugh3:

It is not sad. My flat in Ashdod was a low rise with lemon trees on the grounds. My parents apartment in Leningrad, now Saint Petersburg was a dreary Soviet era block style. Our apartment in Surrey is smaller than our flat in Israel. I am making a lot more money now that my trade has been certified in Canada. But, we don't think we will ever own a house as long as we stay in the Vancouver area.

Perhaps, but we will have to leave Vancouver.

I also enjoyed high rise apartment and condominium living while single.

Israel's cities have lots of little parks for kids to play in. They are quite safe.

I also enjoyed living in this type of place. It is called a garden-style apartment. Mine had a pool like that in the courtyard.
