I wonder if the Australians ever do harbor any animosity for being sent to god damned barren desert island against their will...

No.



Let me tell you why.



1. The word "island". Meaning surrounded by water. Meaning hard to get to. Meaning no illegals.



2. The word "barren". If any military force wanted to invade, they would have to come from the north, and cross the desert to get to the major population centres. Its like one big, flat wall. We even have some nasty critters to help keep our country safe.



3. Even in winter, we can go outside, play sport, bbq and visit the zoo without wearing 17 layers, a ski mask, 3 toques and snow shoes. We never have to shovel our driveways, unfreeze our windscreen wipers, or sit impotently as our car slides uncontrolled into a bus. Ice is used in drinks, not for playing hockey on.



4. We have more beach coastline than any other country.



5. We do not look like emaciated snowmen when undressed. We generally display a nice, toasty brown glow on our skin.

Pretty hard to find a home under 500k unless it's one of those model village shit holes which developers eat up pastures with.



There aren't really any intact traditional Aussie burbs left. The rice cookers, curry munchers, coconuts, salsa slingers, hummus hummers, bongo bashers, septic tanks, pommies, and Eastern European rubbish have all fanned out.
