Here we are in the mini but mighty nation of Singapore, on the last leg of our journey.



Almost home, after a fantastic month.



Certainly different to the UK, although they were experiencing a "heat wave"  :001_rolleyes: .



25C isn't a "heat wave" but it was fun watching them adjust to the uncommonly warm weather.



Singapore is filled with cranes building more apartments, offices, roadworks and civil constructions. It never stops, and is almost unrecognisable from my last visit 4 years ago.



Its an amazing country.

Singapore is fifty years ahead of Canada. I like the place, but I see myself locked up if I lived there.

Singapore is fifty years ahead of Canada. I like the place, but I see myself locked up if I lived there.

It should not be forgotten that Singapore is a socialist State, if not Communist in spirit. The thing is, it works because everyone benefits, effort is reward by wealth, and there are no homeless or unemployed.



However, political opposition does not get far, and dissent is repressed with subtlety, rather than force.



Singaporeans are generally very happy, and accept that their form of government is perfect for their particular circumstances.

It's a contradictory place. On one hand, one of the freest economies on the planet. On the other, a strong, but flexible social safety net. Punishments are frickin harsh. An old delinquent like me would never get out of the joint.

I like immigrants from Singapore. Well spoken, educated, well mannered, and they don't mind integrating in their new nations. But they left for very legitimate concerns and from what they did share with me, I've never cared to visit or give the nation any of my tourist dollars.

I've never met an immigrant from Singapore in Canada.

I've met maybe half a dozen and some of their children here in Oz. The parents got out because they wanted better for their kids.

It's still leaking all around Japan although mostly East to your shores. They can't stop it and can't keep the radioactive water long enough for it to dissipate by half life.



So they pretend that they have it under control, coordinate with other nations to not monitor levels or increase safe allowable levels on paper only.



This will go on for centuries.



They had MOX grade fuel rods in Fukushima at the time.



There's so much Tepco, Japan, and the world hide from us lowly civilians.
