The feature of the Red Tailed Black Cockatoos is their tail when they fly off...



This is a female... Males have sold red tails.

They have some colours on their tails.

I wonder why the only type of cockatoo pets you see in Canada are sulphur crested cockatoos..



Probably just their appearance.

Maybe these days you cannot export our black cockies and decades back, Sulphur Crested were exported and North Amercias population grew from there. OR, our birds were smuggled out and sold on the black market.
