I'm sure it happens here too, but there would be fines and I would imagine the person would have to replant what they illegally cut down.

Once virgin land is gone, it cannot be replaced BECAUSE, the smaller and just as important native bushes, shrubs, and ground covers (grasses) are equally as important as they provide food for native animals birds and insects. To farmers, everything not farm related is vermin...



I no longer have time for farmers... There are too many farms.

I worked in Queensland. While their land reclamation efforts are behind ours, they seem to be following in our footsteps. There upstream oil and gas sector is not as developed as ours is.

A Willie Wagtail down on Swan River foreshore. I won't sign it or downsize it as I get lossy but this sweet little bird was following my feet. Apparently they do that as walking over the grassy area disturbs insects.

It's about the size of a Canary... It just looks big because it was a close up...





Our Magpies... here is one on my veranda...A female..

And they're noisy.

Ours are also very noisy. And territorial sometimes. They've been known to attack pedestrians and cyclists on the head with their beaks during some seasons. I think it's during mating season but I could be wrong.
