This is really special, your picture. I've only ever seen one lone bird at Point Walter.(picture below).. You know Point Walter in Bicton?  I think the last time I read up on them there were like only 5,000 left or maybe that was Fairy Terns. One of the reasons for their demise is bloody 4 wheel drives running all over the beaches.

Yes, I was surprised to see they are on the endangered list, and you're right...their habitat is being destroyed by idiots trampling over the dunes in both cars, bikes and on foot. I was very excited to spot this one, especially as the beach on which it is located requires you to stay only below the high water mark to avoid trampling on their nests. This little guy came out of the dunes and started strutting close enough for me to capture it with my 800mm Panasonic. Before editing it was still a dot in the middle of the frame, and I couldn't tell if I'd caught it or not. The beach where this was taken is one of their few known habitats still in existence.

I imagine the photographer spent a LOT of time and burned a lot of bum shots before he or she got that one.



Nailing one like that is what photographers dream of.

Bricktop... One of my moderators on Birds are Bastards... has shot after shot of Osprey eating fish. She got in close... Had to climb fences, illegally I may add to get a nesting pair and their activities. She is sick now from metal poisoning from a metal pin in her and can't climb fences. She lives an hour South of me...  She said the electricians altered their nesting area and ruined a great breeding pair hidie spot.

This is called a Red Rumped Parrot...but the red is under the wings and I was too slow to catch it flying off.

And then when I did have fairly good lighting pre-sunset, I decided to adjust the camera and stupid me upped the contrast X 2  INSTEAD of sharpness, and my subjects was too far away and all I got were shitty shots like this.



See if you can improve this Bricktop. I doubt it but you never know.. The second one, not the first.

I've run it through some software, but I think you've already done some editing on it. Can I get the original file??
