Exactly.

Being used as a toy for the amusement of adults.

Birds love their featherless friends.

I think humans are just as much toys to them as the other way around.

I had budgies breeding in my house.... they knew I was part of their flock.

They absolutely obeyed every command I gave them.... the ONLY time I was considered a "threat" was when Budgie Boy was mating with Budgie Girl and Budgie Boy considered me a threat. .....lol

And soon as Budgie Girl laid all her eggs he was back to trying to get more food off me.

I just love birds... I love all animals except crocs and sharks.
Is it legal to keep budgies and cockatiels as pets..

In my province, it's illegal to keep any native animals as pets....not even squirrels and chipmunks.

It's legal to keep most birds in Australia.

I think mammals and reptiles you may need a licence.

That is the same baseless claim as "horses love to be raced".

Unless a bird has told you that he or she loves humans, you have no way of knowing. Conditioning does not mean they love you.

Thoroughbreds do love to run... they're bred to run. Both my Grandfathers had champion race horses...

In fact, we know the owner of Village Kid ( Village kid now deceased), Bill Horn... He used to take Village kid for his swim EVERYDAY in the Indian Ocea.

You're just opposed to keeping animals because its work to look after them.

When animals are PROPERLY looked after by humans they live twice as long...

It's all very well to like the notion of animal roaming free in the wild but those poor creatures have to suffer lice, ticks, fleas, predators, the environment extremes weather-wise and so forth.

You're paranoid.

No.

I'm opposed to keeping wild animals as pets, and any animals as toys and playthings.

I have been on farms that had horses..

They are very affectionate and loyal pets..

But, they can become wild quickly.

I think your view is jaded perhaps because you've seen cruelty.

Not all people mistreat animals in their care.

Birds are the easiest creatures to tame or semi tame because their little stomach rule their little birdie brains...lol

You're right to an extent... once an animal matures, they want to breed with their own kind so the dynamic changes.

These days, I much prefer to go to a place, feed the wildlife their correct food... and walk away feeling like I've done a good deed. .

I wish could walk to a place and feed ringnecks..

But, if I want to feed one, it will have to be in my living room.

Bricktop

You have other birds you can feed, surely?

caskur

Canada isn't the same as Oz where the weather is bird friendly at least 10 months out of the year.

Twelve months by our standards..

Your winter temperatures are often close to our summer temperatures.

caskur

It's pretty much hell in January and February... March this year has been hot too...

__Here you go Freud... Camera pointed the other way... not tame birds but very much wild birds who have learned humans give great snacks...lol
