I cannot tell you how shocked I was to find this on my neighbour's aerial. I never imagined in my wildest dreams I would run into one.

I've never seen one either until then...

Weren't you in WA once? Do you know Bibra Lake in the Cockburn council area? "Beeliar Wetlands"?

If ever we talk on the phone, I'll tell you the story... I got to see that bird in my suburbs from an act of polical bastardry from Colin Barnet.

I've been to WA, but only on business trips.

Never lived there.

OK well don't worry but ex-Prem Barnett wanted to put a freeway between two lakes in our Beeliar wetlands... he ruined some virgin bush (illegally) that disturbed the wildlife... hence, that Rainbow Bee-eater bird landed next door to me where I was fortunate to capture it serendipity.

You're right BUT the bush going wasn't worth it. .

They migrate and map out a course meaning that there is a possibility it'll pass my way again.

I saw, Straw-neck Ibis on the weekend. I've never seen them before either. I'm seeing a lot of firsts.

Me too Fash... I had to write a description into google... I knew they were Ibis, I had just never observed the markings which were mainly dark. Our local ibis are mainly white.
