Old Canadian Coins....

...are in my opinion some of the most undervalued & better buys in the Coin Collecting world.



Besides bein' made with lower mintages than their American counteraprsts, their quality was superb, some of the most beautiful & highest quality ever made...anywhere on the planet & on any era, time of world civilization.



If ya wanna get inta coin collecting, get Canadian coins.



Ya wont regret it.

The trick tho is to find a reliable certifiable source to buy them from.



Stamps too. How do you know they're authentic?



With all the technology available, Counterfeiting must be a problem.



I'd only buy them if they were certified as authentic by a recognized grading service and then cased in sealed plastic, eh?

I've owned Canadian Silver and Gold coins...  They are considered some of the purest in the world.  Sold my Gold Maple Leafs, but still have a roll or so of Silvers around here somewhere.



These, however, are simply just bought and sold based on the value of the precious metals that they're made from.  Tax free, I should add! (often impossible to prove capital gains on physical metals)...

Found a few of my Silvers...  A few Christmases ago, I handed out one each to the kids of my cousins.  I thought this would be an easy introductory lesson into the 'theme' of investing for them.  A lesson in which they perhaps could understand, explaining that what they hold in their hands varies in worth daily, in a nutshell...



Of course I'm dealing with typical white kids that have never ever been taught even the basics of finances, nor ever care to learn, so the concept blew right over all their heads.  Oh well...

Yeah they are. Of the coins avaiable, they are thought of as a 'Gold Standard'.



People from other nations buy Canadian gold and hold it in high regard.



From what I understand, counterfeiting is rare.



When you buy them they are often sealed in the original plastic and sometimes a certicate of authenticity.



Some other nations are kind of iffy.



China is known to have lots of fakes and counterfeit coins including gold ones.



So you may be buying a gold colored slug with a lead or zinc core.



Possibly the only way to avoid fakes is to order it directly from their mint.



But you never know ordering stuff of supposed value fron a country like that.



Always best to be locally from a reputable dealer if possible or directly from the canadian mint if possible
