I read the real estate market was red hot in Australia a decade or so ago I believe. How is it today?

Its steady. Too volatile in Sydney and Melbourne, but more stable and solid in other cities.

Houses were damn expensive when I was in Queensland.

In some parts, they are, and in others they're OK. Of course, that is not on prime real estate where $IM for a building block is pretty much average.

Real estate is expensive in most parts of Canada too, but if one looks hard enough in the right market, they might find a bargain.
