No, I was born in Calgary, Alberta..



My mother came to Canada to give birth to me..



We went back to Taiwan when we were both healthy enough to make the trip..



My younger brother was born in Taiwan.

What I found odd is that when travelling to England, I feel at "home" for obvious reasons. I was born there, lived there and have family there.



But when I took my children there, having been born in Australia, they too said they felt at home.

My children feel no such connection to Taiwan..



They speak limited Mandarin and Taiwanese.

I was quite taken aback by how easily my children assimilated into England. They were travelling the tube on their own at 12 years old with no problem.
