Don't pick them too green. They need to turn slightly yellow. You're eating the inner white flesh.

My wife and I are retiring in Panama in less than two years. There are so many tropical plants we don't yet. Your pictures inspire me to learn a lot more tropical flora.

I picked up a gem of a tropical plant today... Philodendron goeldii (Finger leaf philodendron).

It has quite a unique leaf structure.
