Quote from: J E B Stuart on July 03, 2025, 11:45:39 PMThe J. Geils Band was formed in 1967 and from Worcester, Massachusetts. They had several hits in the 70s and 80s. This was their biggest, released in 1981:

Amen.
That and Freeze Frame were their biggest hits.

Resource extraction and processing and manufacturing are what provided a solid middle class base in Canada. Those sectors have shrank by half on the Liberals' watch.

Real estate has more than doubled it's share of the economy. It is not sustainable.

I hear the Canadian chattering classes are reporting every Canadian that gets arrested by ICE. What I hear they are conveniently leaving out is that every Canadian that has been arrested by ICE is a criminal.

Quote from: DKG on July 04, 2025, 09:54:33 AMFirst world status is not our birth right. It requires work to maintain it. And Canada has done everything in the past decade to shed itself of it's wealthy status. Mark Carney is doubling down on policies that put the Canadian dream at risk.

We cannot endure another decade like the last one or will lose our first world status like Argentina did long ago. There is still a lot of wealth in this country, but we will have to reverse course soon whilw we still can.
Canada will get kicked out of the G7.

Quote from: Shen Li on July 04, 2025, 12:27:02 AMYou don't have kids, so UR not a stakeholder in Canada's future. I had to think about my son's futures and Canada is no longer a land of opportunity.

More and more skilled Canadians are voting with their feet and emigrating.
I am so glad I had my career and bought my house while Canada was still prosperous and free. A person starting out today could not have did the same.

Quote from: formosan on July 04, 2025, 10:40:34 AMI hope we can return to the pragmatism that used to characterize Canada.
That will not happen on my watch.
